Tats\u00e4chlich lief es unter GNOME ohne gro\u00dfe Klimmz\u00fcge mit Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS.<\/p>\n<p>Hauptproblem war wieder, Linux dazu zu bewegen, ein Modem statt einem USB Stick zu erkennen. Mittlerweile gibt es daf\u00fcr Tools. Man muss nur das Tool &#8220;USB ModeSwitch&#8221; installieren und in einer Konfigurationsdatei etwas anpassen.<\/p>\n<p>Das ist unter <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.ubuntuusers.de\/USB_ModeSwitch\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/wiki.ubuntuusers.de\/USB_ModeSwitch<\/a> sehr gut beschrieben und auf das E220 passen die dort beschriebenen Regeln 1:1. Selbst ohne Reboot erkannte der Kernel das Modem beim erneuten Einstecken danach als solches.<\/p>\n<p>Danach erkennt der GNOME Netzwerkmanager das Modem, wenn man unter &#8220;Mobiles Breitband&#8221; eine neue Verbindung erstellt. Von Hand waren keine Einstellungen n\u00f6tig, ich habe &#8220;E-Plus&#8221; als Provider ausgew\u00e4hlt. Danach fragte der Netzwerkmanager nur noch nach der PIN (keine Basteleien mehr n\u00f6tig) und erstaunlicherweise war ich nach nur 2 Versuchen (ich erinnere mich mit Grausen an den Februar oder M\u00e4rz) online.<\/p>\n<p>Tats\u00e4chlich schreibe ich diesen Artikel gerade \u00fcber die UMTS Verbindung, auch wenn ich auf Anhieb den Unterschied zum Breitband via Kabelanschlu\u00df merke.
